South African cricket World cup squad- good and bad eggs


Batting Eggs:

Faf Du Plessis (c): He is the captain of South Africa across all formats in international cricket. His experience of playing 134 matches since 2011 makes him one of the strongest captains of the World Cup. He has scored 5120 runs in ODI cricket consisting of 11 tons and 32 half centuries. He is a great middle order batsman of South Africa.

Hashim Amla: He is one of few batsmen in the world who have scored over 7000 runs in ODI Cricket. He has scored 37 fifties and 27 centuries in his career of 174 matches with an average of nearly fifty and a healthy strike rate of 89.2. he could smash any player anywhere in the ground. His role in the cricket world cup would be very important.

Aiden Markram: He is a young talented cricketer with an age of 24 years who has scored 500 runs in 18 matches with an average of 29. He has scored 2 fifties in one day cricket. He would benefit from experiencing the big cricket event in his lifetime. He has played some good innings in his career which saved south Africa some games.

David Miller: He is one of the greatest hard hitters in current cricket with a blistering strike rate of 100. He has scored nearly 3000 runs in 106 innings with an average of 39. He will be a plus point for south Africa in the tournament.

Rassie van der dussen: He debuted for South Africa this year against Pakistan and he scored 2 fifties in ODI series and had a great impact over the selectors when he played against Sri Lanka. He has a surprising average of 88 with SR of 75. He would be another young player to keep an eye on in this wonderful cup.


Bowling Eggs:

Dale Steyn: He debuted in 2005 and has taken 196 wickets in 125 matches with a good economy of 4. His statistics display what a legendary bowler he is. He is number one wicket taker for south Africa in test cricket and his ODI record is very good. He would boost up team’s performance with his pace on the English pitches.

Kagiso Rabada: He is a great bowler who has taken 106 wickets since his debut in 2015.He will lead south Africa’s pace attack in the mega event in England. His economy is 5 and his average is 26. Economy and average indicates how beautifully he performed so far. He is a game changer and his pace normally scares the hell out of batsman.

Lungi Ngidi: He is a great young player and hardworking one-day bowler of south Africa. He played first match of his career last year but he has taken 34 wickets in just 18 matches. He has a lovely average of 21 with an economy of 5. He has 2  four wicket-hauls in ODI cricket.

Dwaine Pretorius: He has taken 24 wickets in 19 matches with an average of 29.his economy is 4.88. He will look to take wickets for his country in the cup. It is great chance for new bloods like him to taste the flavor of mega event. It is always good to experience this when you are surrounded by big names like Amla.

Anrich Nortje: He has taken 8 wickets in 4 matches. He is a young cricketer who has got a potential to do something special for his nation in the World Cup. His inclusion on the squad has surprised some as his experience is insignificant but sometimes taking such risks and playing with the young energetic players can give you a different edge.
Imran Tahir: He is a Pakistani-born legendary right-arm leg spinner bowler of south Africa who started his career in 2011 and is set to retire from ODI Cricket after the World Cup. He played 98 matches and has taken 162 wickets. He will lead the spin bowling attack for South Africa in the World Cup. He has an amazing wicket taking ability which is a plus point in this team and this player can damage any player on given day.

Tabraiz Shamsi: He is a left-arm off spin bowler who has taken 19 important wickets in his career of 15 matches with an average of 35 and economy of 5. He is recent inclusion in the squad but his domestic performance is worthy.

All-Rounder Eggs:

Andile Phehlukwayo: He is named as a bowler but his batting stats display his all-rounding skills. He has a strike rate of 91 and average of 32 in one-day cricket and has scored over 400 runs in ODI Cricket. He has taken 54 wickets in 43 matches with an economy of 5 and average of 29.6.

Jean-Paul Duminy: He is a great all rounders who has over 5000 runs and 68 wickets in his 194 matches of his career. He is a great talented cricketer of South Africa who has won proteas many games in the past. His aggressive batting style puts the opposition under pressure.

Wicket-Keeper Eggs:

Quinton De Kock: This guy  is only professional wicket keeper of  South Africa who is also a great batsman. HE has scored over 4600 rubs in one-day cricket in 106 matches with an average of 45 and a great strike rate of 95. He will have to maintain his fitness during a long tournament otherwise there will be difficulties for south African team.
